Red-Light District

Again and again prostitutes are confronted with harsh prejudice. People condemn and judge them. They are the ones no one wants to know. But what is their true story?

We build relationships to those women in St. Georg and the Reeperbahn. Our goal is to show them their value and to help them to start another life.

We work closely with Mission Freedom und the Salvation Army. Mission Freedom can host and help women who want to get out of prostitution.

DTS

The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an essential part of our base.

Focusing on "human trafficking and injustice" or on photogenX we want to encourage young people to be an answer to (social) injustice.

Box-Academy

Since August 2009 we have the possibility to work with the Box-Akademy Hamburg in Jenfeld.

In the middle of a socially weaker area of the city we offer activities, attention and encouragement through the boxing training. That means that we have a great, positive impact on the personal development of these kids.

Our goal is not to raise boxing champions but a generation that stands firm in their identity and has a positive impact on our society!

Youth Work Oasis

As a reaction to the death by starvation of a 6-year-old girl in Hamburg Jenfeld the Arche was founded. In addition to that the Friedenskirche Jenfeld and the Arche founded the youth center Oasis. Every Friday we spend time with the teens coming and supporting the staff.

Oasis wants to offer teens a place where they are seen, encouraged and supported in their personal development.

English lessons

Out of great interest and need for young learners to develop a foundation for the English language our English ministry developed. Each week we teach about 66 children between the ages of 3-9 years old.

Our heart is to provide an equal opportunity for all children to learn - regardless of their socio-economic status.

Church in the Center

KiC - that is church in the midst of a shopping center in Hamburg.

A kids program is offered 3 times a week to kids between the ages of 6 and 12. Most of them originally come from the Middle East or other parts of the world. Coming from broken homes we give them the chance to get to know God's love for them.

For many international teams this place is a popular outreach place.

Church Planting

From the very beginning of YWAM Hamburg we have had a vision for planting simple, organic churches. We already have one church which regularly meets in people's homes and are longing to multiply this throughout the city.

We understand organic churches to mean small groups of people whose aim is to live a missional lifestyle. The emphasis is more on relationship than program.

During the week we have a number of smaller accountability groups where two or three people meet to pray for one another and grow as disciples.

We believe that this form of church is very relevant to our post-modern generation and is needed to make inroads into the society where we live.

Mission Teams

We love to host mission teams from all over the world and integrate them into our ministries.

Through the freedom to try new things many new ministries also developed.

Through that many teens and young adults could get an insight into missions. For many of them this is a very precious experience.
