Germany's Calling
Every nation has its own values, traditions, gifts and culture and with that comes a special calling.
Our history shows what potential this nation has - for good and bad.
Until the current generation we continue to live with the burden of the "Dritte Reich" (The Nazi Third Reich). We believe that God can set Germany free of this burden.
Germany is a country with a calling to the nations. A land with the gift to pioneer new things and to go new ways. A nation of pioneers and leaders, called to walk and serve.

Martin Luther
With the reformation and simple faith; salvation through grace alone, Martin Luther did change not only the church at that time but the whole world - until today.
In that context, Gutenberg also needs to be mentioned. Because of his invention of the printing press, it was possible to give all people over all the earth access to the Word of God.
Modern Missions Movement
Once Germany used to be one of the major missionary sending nations in the world. For German missionaries no price was too high to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.
The Moravians sold themselves into slavery to reach African slaves. Within one generation the Moravians reached almost every continent.
A quote about the beginning of the Moravian mission movement 1727
"One of the greatest outpourings of the Holy Spirit since the days of the apostles occurred on a memorable wednesday morning (...). Through Count Zinzendorf, God started spiritual streams which revolutionized the world. Without the Moravians there may well have never been a Methodist church (...) or a Salvation Army"
The world-wide impact of this small group of believers cannot be described.

Nietzsche's Heritage
In almost every totalitarian ideology of the 19th and 20th century you can find the heritage of one of the most popular German philosophers.
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844) refused the acceptance of absolute truth and completely rejected moral and traditional values. He coined the phrase "God is dead!". A whole society was taught that there is no God and no standards higher than their own.
Nietzsche influenced many following generations of philosophers and theologians.
Change the World
There are a lot more Germans whose positive or negative impact on the world remains even to this day.
This nation has many special gifts which can change the world and be a blessing for mankind.
Loren Cunningham says about Germany's calling:
"I am convinced: this nation, which has such a great heart for the nations, will once again bless the whole earth with Bibles, a new reformation, revival movements, prayer for the nations, and the sending of missionaries to every continent. The Christians in Germany should take to heart what God called out to his people through the prophet Haggai 2,4:
'Take courage all peoples of the land, take courage!', says the Lord, 'and work. Because I am with you.'"
